Bayberry Candles

These genuine Bayberry candles, made from the wax on the berries of the bayberry shrub, have been the traditional holiday candles since colonial times. Made in New York State from organically grown bayberry bushes.

Burned to the nub on Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve, they bring good luck for the coming year. A white powder called bloom forms naturally on the surface of bayberry candles as they age.

Each pair is made the old-fashioned way: hand-dipped on a restored 1850s carousel dipping wheel and carefully hand-strung.

The wax comes directly from the natural coating of berries from the bayberry shrub, giving these tapers their signature look, scent, and tradition.

Comes in a set of 6 inches and 8 inches.
